Fireplace Accessories

People seek out new fireplace accessories for a number of reasons. Some people are looking for something as basic as new cleaning tools. Others are looking to upgrade their outdated grates and doors to something that better matches the rest of the room, or that is more energy efficient. Some people will completely revamp their fireplace by purchasing new (often matching) mantels, grates, doors, and tools.

Fireplace accessories beyond the basics include andirons, which are used instead of or in addition to fireplace grates. These help to keep logs from falling out of the fire. Other optional accessories include kettles and steamers.

Matchboxes, ashbins, boot scrapers and more are all available for anyone who uses his or her fireplace often and wants it to look and perform at its best. With the right accessories, a fairly ordinary fireplace can be transformed into something more ornate; conversely, a contemporary fireplace can be made to look more historic. These accessories are valuable both in the way they transform the exterior of your fireplace, and in keeping the fireplace clean and high-functioning.
